The Young Adult Ministry seeks to improve the relationships of young adults with Christ, themselves and each other by organizing and promoting activities catering to the spiritual, emotional and social needs of today’s young adult.

The Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) is an international faith-based, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), granted Special Consultative Category II Status in 1985 in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The WMS is composed of over 800,000 members located across four continents in thirty-two countries. We are in the forefront of works of mission, at the head of the Church, operating from the highest level within each of twenty Episcopal Districts and reporting to every meeting of the General and Annual Conferences

The purpose of the Lay Organization is to organize and train the lay members of the A.M.E. Church, so that each member may utilize to the maximum the abilities and skills granted by God, in assisting with the improvement and extension of God's kingdom, and creating happiness, peace and harmony among its members.

Young People's Divison
The YOUNG PEOPLE’S AND CHILDREN’S DIVISION (Y.P.D.) is a youth organization, established in October 1915, under the auspices of the Women’s Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Y.P.D. units may be found in most local churches throughout the connection. The Y.P.D. membership is estimated at over 100,000.
The purpose of this division of the Women’s Missionary Society is to provide meaningful youth training programs in all areas of church life. Also to provide specific training in evangelism, Christian social relations and educational programs designed to increase knowledge of the A.M.E church’s history and provide leadership experience.
